These terms govern your use of asbestos-check.co.uk (“the website”), operated by AsbestosCheck (“we”, “us”). By using the website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.

2. Our Service

AsbestosCheck is a directory of HSE-licensed asbestos removal contractors in the United Kingdom. We help property owners find and contact licensed contractors.

Important: We are a directory and referral service only. We do not employ, endorse, or guarantee the work of any contractor listed on our platform. We are not affiliated with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

3. Accuracy of Information

Contractor licence data is sourced from the HSE CONIAC register and is updated regularly. Company data is sourced from Companies House. While we take reasonable steps to keep information current, we cannot guarantee the accuracy or completeness of any data displayed.

Always verify a contractor’s HSE licence status directly with the HSE before engaging their services, especially for notifiable non-licensed work or licensed asbestos removal.

4. User Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate information when submitting enquiries or claiming listings.
  • Do not submit spam, fraudulent, or misleading enquiries.
  • Do not attempt to scrape, overload, or interfere with the website.
  • Do not impersonate another person or business when claiming a listing.

5. Contractor Listings

Contractor listings are created automatically from public HSE register data. Contractors can claim their listing for free to manage their profile.

  • Free tier: Basic listing with HSE badge, company details, and ability to receive enquiries.
  • Paid tiers (Pro, Premium): Additional features including priority placement, photo galleries, and analytics. Paid via monthly subscription through Stripe.

6. Payments and Subscriptions

  • Paid subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe.
  • You can cancel at any time. Your plan remains active until the end of the billing period.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days’ notice.
  • Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis within 14 days of purchase.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of our website or from engaging any contractor listed on it.
  • We do not warrant the quality, safety, or legality of any contractor’s work.
  • Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the preceding 12 months (or £100, whichever is greater).

8. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including design, text, and code, is owned by AsbestosCheck or used under licence. Contractor data sourced from public registers is used under open data terms.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the website or any contractor listing if you breach these terms, submit fraudulent claims, or engage in abusive behaviour.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
