Transparency about where our data comes from and how we process it.

HSE CONIAC Licensed Contractors Register

Our Great Britain licence records originate from the licensed-contractor list linked by HSE and published through CONIAC. Directory records may be out of date. Check the current register and licence conditions before appointing a contractor.

Data includes:

Company name, licence number, licence type (Standard/Ancillary/Scaffolding/Maintenance), expiry date, registered address, phone number

Licence check status:

Automatic monthly checks are not currently verified. Each profile shows the last recorded check date; a missing date means the check is unconfirmed.

Companies House

We cross-reference contractors with the Companies House register to provide company status information, helping you identify active businesses and avoid dissolved or dormant companies.

Data includes:

Company number, company status (Active/Dissolved/Dormant), incorporation date

Coverage:

Company matches are shown where recorded. Confirm the current company identity and status at Companies House.

Google Places API

Where available, we display Google review ratings and review counts to help you gauge a contractor’s reputation. Ratings are sourced from Google Maps via the Places API.

Data includes:

Star rating (1–5), total review count

Note:

Not all contractors have a Google Business profile. Missing ratings do not indicate poor quality.

Postcodes.io

Contractor postcodes are geocoded (converted to latitude/longitude) using postcodes.io, a free and open-source UK postcode API. This enables our distance-based search functionality.

Coverage:

100% of contractors successfully geocoded

If you believe any information on AsbestosCheck is inaccurate, please contact us at data@asbestos-check.co.uk and we will review and correct it promptly. Contractors can also claim their listing to manage their profile directly.
